The GSRC is activating the 435 Plan along with all the Respiratory State Societies around our country, to once again write Congress to gain support for the Medicare Respiratory Care Initiative.
This Initiative was in legislation last session and will soon be presented in this 112th Congress. Go to the AARC’s Capitol Connection or http://capwiz.com/aarc site, read about the legislation and choose a letter that suits you.
Briefly, the Medicare Respiratory Care Initiative would permit a bachelor degree registered respiratory therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care, testing, and patient education in the physician practices without requiring the physician to be physically present. Currently the physician must be present.
WRITE CONGRESS TODAY! We will be in Washington D.C. March 8th representing over 4000 licensed Georgia Respiratory Therapists discussing this initiative with your U.S. Representative and Senator offices. Write them and ask them to support this initiative for the health of our pulmonary patients.
Thank you,
Karen Sicard RRT
